Understanding Contracts And Service Agreements

Understanding Contracts and Service Agreements

A breakdown of the terms you agree to when hiring a remote worker through our platform.

When hiring a remote worker through Eqeepo, you're entering into a simple but important service agreement. This article breaks down what that means for you—the client—so you feel confident and informed every step of the way.

1. Who You’re Working With

When you hire through Eqeepo, you're working with two types of parties:

  • Independent Contractors: These are the talented remote workers available through our platform.

  • Eqeepo: We operate the platform, handle payments, and facilitate the connection between you and the contractor.

You are responsible for training, communication, and managing the work of your remote workers.

2. Your Agreement with Us

By signing up and hiring through Eqeepo, you agree to our Terms of Service. That includes:

  • Paying for work through Eqeepo (not directly to contractors).

  • Using contractors for internal business purposes only.

  • Not soliciting or hiring them outside the platform for 18 months after working together.

3. How Billing Works

  • Deposit: You’ll pay a fully refundable deposit (typically $80 per contractor) before getting started.

  • Hourly Rates: These are stated on each contractor’s profile.

  • Automatic Billing: Charges are made to your card once your pending hours exceed your deposit. You’ll receive notice of rate changes at least 30 days in advance.

  • If you have any issues or questions about billing, please notify us as soon as possible so we can assist you promptly. Early communication helps us resolve concerns more effectively.

4. Intellectual Property and Work Ownership

All work delivered by your contractor—unless otherwise agreed—is yours. They agree that anything they produce under your direction becomes your property, including copyrights and other IP rights.

5. Security and Confidentiality

  • You manage access: You’re in control of what data or financial access your contractor gets.

  • Company confidentiality: Eqeepo won’t share your information without consent (unless required by law).

  • Contractor confidentiality: While we ask contractors to keep your information private, Eqeepo can’t guarantee it. Use best practices with regards to your data and privacy.

6. Refunds and Disputes

  • Most payments (except for the deposit) are non-refundable.

  • If something feels off—like unexpected hours or unclear billing—reach out to the worker first before you contact us.

  • Chargebacks without prior communication are considered a breach of contract.

7. Ending the Agreement

  • You can cancel your contractor agreement at any time with 24 hours’ notice.

  • You can also end your relationship with Eqeepo by written notice.

  • Upon ending, you can request your deposit back (minus any unpaid fees or bank transfer costs).

8. Respect, Responsibility, and Platform Use

We expect all clients to:

  • Treat contractors professionally.

  • Use our tools (like time tracking or messaging) as support—not a guarantee.

  • Understand that contractor rates reflect their experience and international context.

Clients who act abusively or discriminatorily will be removed from the platform.

9. Legal Stuff—In Plain English

  • Eqeepo limits its liability to $500.

  • We’re not liable for outages, delays, or contractor performance.

  • All disputes are handled via binding arbitration in Delaware.

  • You agree not to make claims or initiate chargebacks.
