How to Stop Working with a Remote Worker
Steps to formally end your engagement with a remote worker
Ending your working relationship with a remote worker is straightforward and can be done anytime through your client dashboard.
Before deciding to remove a worker if you are experiencing any issues, we strongly recommend discussing them directly with your worker. Try sending messages or scheduling a call to clarify any misunderstandings or resolve concerns. Often, open communication can solve problems without needing to end the engagement.
If this doesn’t work, here’s how to do it properly to ensure a clean transition:
Step-by-Step Guide to Removing a Remote Worker
Go to the Team section in your dashboard.
Locate the remote worker you want to end your engagement with.
Click the three dots (⋯) next to their name to open the options menu.
Select Remove From Team.
At this point, a confirmation message will appear:
Are you sure you want to remove [Worker’s Name] from your team? If so, they will be notified and won't be able to log any more hours.
If you're having issues with [Worker’s Name], we recommend you contact them first.
Again, we strongly encourage you to talk with your remote worker first if you are experiencing any issues or concerns.
If you decide you want to remove the worker, you can do it. Once you confirm removal, your remote worker will be formally terminated and will no longer have access to log any hours on your projects.
Important note: When you decide to end your engagement with a remote worker, as with any employee or contractor who no longer works with you, you should remove their access to all platforms, files, and company systems. Additionally, be sure to change passwords and any relevant access points.
