Can I Pay My Remote Worker Directly?

How worker payments, bonuses, and rate changes work at Eqeepo

Short answer: No. 

All payments must go through Eqeepo. Paying a worker directly is prohibited and violates our Terms of Service. Section 7 of our Terms of Service specifies liquidated damages that you’d owe, and additional legal consequences also apply. 

How Payments Work

Eqeepo handles all payments for you. We charge by the hour—with no hidden fees or long-term contracts:

• You only pay for hours worked. 

• Your worker sets their own hourly rate.

• Time is tracked in your dashboard, so you always know exactly what you’re paying for.
  
  

Why Direct Payment Isn’t Allowed

Processing payments through Eqeepo ensures:

• Accurate time tracking and clear reporting

• No currency conversion or international payment issues

• Secure transactions with no missed or late payments

• No legal or tax-related headaches for you since you’re paying a US company, Eqeepo, not a foreign contractor. 

Paying a worker directly removes these protections, exposes you to legal and compliance risks, and violates your agreement with Eqeepo.

Want to reward your worker with better compensation? That’s great. There are two easy ways to do so:

Send a Bonus

Bonuses are a great way to reward your remote worker.

We will charge you for the bonus separately—it won’t be added to your next regular invoice. The bonus will be sent directly to your worker and they’ll receive it in their next payment cycle.

Increase Their Pay

If you’d like to compensate your remote worker more generously by increasing their hourly rate, that’s great! Your worker will receive the full amount of the rate increase.

Just email us at hello@eqeepo.com and let us know:

• The name of the worker

• The new hourly rate you'd like to apply
  
  

We’ll take it from there to ensure their payment rate is updated and that they get paid accordingly.
